My service provider has give me hosting space and a domain, i have a web page, how do i link them up?

Usually, when you're given a domain name and webspace, you will have to configure your webspace to respond to those accessing the domain name. Some webspace provider have its own control panel (cPanel, Plesk, Virtuozzo, etc) that will allow you to defined the domain name to direct traffic to your webspace.

In some cases, when you were given the webspace and the domain name, it's already linked.

Check with your service provider customer support for documentation on how to configure your domain name to work with your webspace.

You can set your providers page to redirect to your site.

Use a meta tag:

%26lt;META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" content="10; url=http://www.yoursite.com"/%26gt;

This means after 10 seconds (can be longer or less) the page is re-directed to www.yoursite.com

Upload the web site to the domain, typically using FTP (free software is available on line). If you happened to have used FrontPage to design the web site, click on %26lt;File%26gt; %26lt;publish%26gt; and it will do all the work for you. You will need your user name and password form your ISP. Your ISP should have some toutorials or help function to guide you.
