I want to set up a website?

My family is beginning to spread out over the US and I want to create a website to keep everyone updated on current events in the family. I do not want to spend much money and although I am somewhat computer savvy, I need assistance with setting it up.

If you are thinking of just sharing pictures, I would recommend this website: http://www.photobucket.com and give the username and password to your family members so they can see the photos. It's very fast and efficient. If you're wanting to keep them updated on other things besides photos, however, then why not just start a blog they can visit? Like on xanga.com...that way you don't need to worry about FTP and designing the website. Xanga is very simple to update and for others to view. If you're really wanting a domain, and a cheaper one, try godaddy.com. They are pretty cheap ~ good luck!





Oh btw, if you do get a domain, you'll need Notepad to write the HTML or what I use (Frontpage) is easier so you don't have to memorize HTML codes...and WS_FTP LE to upload it. I am actually in the process of making a web design sort of business. I'm sure you wouldn't want to pay for just a site that updates for family and friends, but if you ever run into questions about Frontpage or WS_FTP LE or godaddy you can email me and I'll be glad to answer: lotsomochi@yahoo.com
